The mission of .VERIFIED is to provide a namespace associated with the applied-for string. The .VERIFIED gTLD is intended to serve a broad range of registrants and users, including individuals, businesses, organizations, communities, projects, and other entities that identify with, relate to, or wish to be associated with the concept represented by the applied-for string.
The purpose of .VERIFIED is to enable registrants to establish online identities using domain names that correspond to this concept. To achieve this purpose, Bird Pepper, LLC will make .VERIFIED available for registration through registrars and other appropriate distribution channels; maintain a secure, stable, and reliable registry infrastructure; implement registration and operational policies that support the availability, security, and integrity of the namespace; and provide ongoing administration of the gTLD to enable registrants to register and use domain names within the namespace.
The purpose of .VERIFIED is sustainable over time because the applied-for string is broadly recognized and has broad applicability across a wide range of contexts. As society, technology, and methods of communication evolve, organizations and individuals will continue to establish online identities associated with the applied-for string.
The mission and purpose of .verified is to provide registrants — publishers, journalists, researchers, data providers, brands, and public institutions — a dedicated namespace to present and distribute their data, news, and other information to the public.
The applicant will drive adoption of .verified through a combination of public relations outreach to build category awareness, direct marketing campaigns targeting end users, partnership development with data providers and publishers to secure anchor registrants and credible early adopters, and coordinated promotion through the registrar channel to extend distribution and drive registration volume among the broader target audience.
This purpose is sustainable over time because it responds to a structural condition rather than a passing news cycle. The volume of information published online has grown for decades and continues to accelerate as content production becomes automated, while the rise of "fake news," AI-generated content, and social media posturing has made source differentiation increasingly valuable to both publishers and audiences. As that volume and noise continue to grow, publishers, data providers, and institutions have a persistent incentive to distinguish themselves through a namespace purpose-built for presenting information, independent of any single platform, format, or technology cycle remaining current.
Registered Agents Inc's mission for .verified is to provide a stable, open, general-use namespace for lawful verification-related concepts, signals, services, projects, and organizations. Intended registrants include individuals, businesses, organizations, and service providers using the term lawfully; intended users are the people and systems that locate and interact with those registrants online. To carry out this purpose, Registered Agents Inc will distribute registrations through ICANN-accredited registrars under published, non-exclusive policies; support standard registration lifecycles and rights-protection mechanisms; maintain resilient DNS, DNSSEC, RDAP, data escrow, and registry operations through its selected RSP arrangements; and operate abuse intake and response controls addressing impersonation, misleading conduct, and other DNS abuse within the registry's authority. Registrar onboarding, service support, and measured marketing will develop awareness and lawful use. The purpose is sustainable through a shared six-TLD operating platform, committed internal funding, scalable infrastructure and provider capacity, and a conservative registration-fee model. Registration does not mean that a registrant, identity, domain, content item, business, credential, or claim has been verified by the registry.
