Mission and Purpose: Charleston Road Registry Inc. dba Google Registry (Charleston Road Registry), a company wholly owned by Google, provides registry services to the public. Google is a technology leader focused on improving how millions of users connect with information. In line with Google’s mission, we make information accessible by extending the utility of the Domain Name System while enhancing the performance, security, and stability of the Internet. We aspire to create unique web spaces where users learn about products and services in a targeted manner. The primary purpose of the applied-for gTLD is to provide a dedicated, recognizable, and trusted space where registrants can enact second-level domains that relate to artificial intelligence, business analytics, smart technologies, and information gathering. These uses may include but are not limited to applications such as business intelligence platforms, machine learning research, and smart device ecosystems. This applied-for gTLD provides registrants ability to categorize their online locations, securely manage their digital presence, and offer a highly recognized web space to the general Internet population.
Intended Registrants and Users: Charleston Road Registry intends to operate the applied-for gTLD as an open registry. The ultimate goal is to allow various businesses and individuals to comprehensively manage their domain space for intelligence-related offerings. Registration will be widely accessible, and any interested parties will be authorized to register domains in accordance with standard, open registry policies. The intended registrants include technology developers, artificial intelligence researchers, and data analytics firms. The intended users of the applied-for gTLD are the general Internet public and consumers who will navigate to these domains to securely access smart technology ecosystems, business intelligence dashboards, AI research portals, and analytical services.
Related Activities: The applied-for gTLD will provide registrants with the ability to customize their domain names to signal to Internet users the precise nature of their websites. The specialization goal of the applied-for gTLD is to extend the intelligence identity to each dedicated second-level domain space. This provides a centralized mechanism by which individuals and companies can easily link their diverse initiatives, allowing them to actively manage their digital presence and coordinate the introduction of web spaces for analytical and smart technology services. Launching the applied-for gTLD will generate increased competition in the online marketplace by adding incremental availability to the domain pool. The applied-for gTLD will spur further innovation by providing an accelerated platform for the seamless introduction of new offerings and enhanced branding.
Sustainability Over Time: Charleston Road Registry will strive to provide the highest level of user experience through operational stability, security, and performance for the applied-for gTLD. This purpose is highly sustainable over time due to Google's long-term corporate standing, continuous investment, and robust technical infrastructure. We are uniquely positioned to provide this experience given our relationship with Google; Google invests heavily in IT infrastructure and maintains a record of excellence in operations. Google runs one of the largest DNS system globally, maintains industry-leading uptime, and offers enterprise services on which governments depend. Google keeps speed, reliability and scale in mind with each new service, ensuring ongoing stability for the registry's lifetime. Google is well-financed and committed to maintaining Charleston Road Registry, ensuring operation of the TLD remains viable, relevant, and fully funded.
The mission and purpose of this TLD is to expand consumer choice by providing a clear namespace associated with the acquisition, analysis and application of knowledge. Registrants may include researchers, educators, analysts, developers, institutions and users. The purpose is sustainable because human and machine intelligence will remain important across many fields. The gTLD is not dependent on a single industry, technology, or business model and can accommodate evolving uses as technology and Internet activity develop.
Applicant designated Identity Digital as the RSP. Identity Digital enjoys a reputation of excellence as a domain name industry contributor and innovator. Applicant, along with Identity Digital’s team, will support this purpose through reliable registry operations, appropriate security and abuse-mitigation measures, transparent registration policies, and compliance with applicable ICANN requirements.
We are committed to the successful expansion of the Internet, the secure operation of the DNS, and the creation of a new segment of the web that will be admired and respected.
1. Mission and purpose: The mission of .intelligence is to provide a namespace for the fields organized around intelligence, led by artificial intelligence and business intelligence. Intended registrants include artificial intelligence companies, research organizations, developers, publishers and communities; business intelligence, analytics and data platforms; market and competitive intelligence firms and products; and businesses across education, assessment and consulting for which intelligence is core vocabulary. Intended users are the enterprises, professionals, researchers and consumers who seek intelligence products, services and content worldwide. Following delegation, the applicant will, as registry operator of the .intelligence TLD, conduct a phased launch, implement all ICANN-required rights protection mechanisms, and distribute the TLD through ICANN-accredited registrars, supported by marketing and outreach to build awareness and adoption among the intended registrant and user groups. The TLD will be operated under a comprehensive DNS abuse prevention and mitigation framework covering the full range of abuse types, combining proactive and reactive controls. Abuse reports will be investigated and actioned in line with applicable policy requirements. The objective is to maintain .intelligence as a high-quality, trusted namespace for registrants and end users.
2. Sustainability: The two fields leading the namespace are each durable in their own right. Artificial intelligence has moved from research discipline to general-purpose technology adopted across every industry, with a continuously expanding population of companies, products and publications organized around it. Business intelligence has been an established enterprise software and services category for decades, and the broader family of market and competitive intelligence functions is a permanent fixture of corporate practice. Because "intelligence" is a centuries-old word spanning several independent, growing commercial fields, demand for the namespace does not depend on any single sector's cycles.
