The namespace gives agents names worth trusting, and it gives the community that builds them a shared, findable place, run as neutral ground on equal, published terms. When an agent books, negotiates, or transacts on a person's or organization's behalf, the question that matters is who is answerable for what it just did. A .agent name answers it: every active domain name is bound to an identified, verified principal who has accepted responsibility for the agents operating under it. Verification does not make the principal's identity public. The intended registrants are members of the Agent Community, defined in Q132 and stated here in its complete form: "The Agent Community is the worldwide community of engineers, researchers, organizations, builders, and operators who develop, research, deploy, or take responsibility for the operation of autonomous software agents that act on behalf of an identified principal." Abuse reports will be investigated and actioned in line with applicable policy requirements. The objective is to maintain .agent as a high-quality, trusted namespace for registrants and end users. 2. Sustainability: The agent professions predate the internet and remain embedded in real estate, travel, entertainment and publishing worldwide; software agents add a second, growing engine of demand. Because the string draws on two independent registrant populations, its purpose does not depend on any single market.

For this gTLD the applicant will onboard the TLD to its existing registry platform, conduct a Sunrise Period and Trademark Claims Period, launch General Availability through its registrar channel, and maintain ongoing registrar enablement, abuse monitoring, and compliance reporting. 4. Sustainability. Operation is funded by recurring registration and renewal revenue and does not depend on any single registrant, sector, or campaign. This gTLD will run on the applicant's existing shared registry infrastructure, so incremental operating cost is low and no minimum registration volume is required for viability. The applicant has operated gTLDs continuously since 2014.
