The importance of the internet, and the services it enables, continues to grow. Businesses and consumers are driving an increasing need for online content and communications services. These services are driving additional utilization of domain names.
The mission and purpose of the .pki gTLD will be to provide an online identifier to support internet services and innovation. It is expected that the gTLD to be utilized by global internet users, both businesses and consumers. It is expected that the gTLD will be used by registrants to run internet services, including websites and email.
The gTLD will run on Verisign’s infrastructure and will leverage the industry-leading Internet technologies that have made the TLDs Verisign operates reliable, secure, and available for decades.
