Anthropic is an AI safety and research company. We are a Public Benefit Corporation whose purpose is the responsible development and maintenance of Advanced AI for the long-term benefit of humanity. We are working to build AI systems that are reliable, interpretable, and steerable. .CLAUDE, our own top-level domain, extends that purpose to how we show up online. Names in .CLAUDE will be registered only by Anthropic, PBC, its affiliates, and partners it licenses to register under this gTLD. We'll use it to give the people who rely on us — our users, developers, researchers, and partners — a clear and trustworthy way to find what they need, by registering and operating addresses for our products, research, documentation, careers, and developer resources (for example, about.claude, code.claude, or support.claude). For us this is as much a safety matter as a branding one. Because only Anthropic and those it licenses can register an address here, anyone visiting a .CLAUDE site can trust it genuinely comes from Anthropic or a trusted partner — closing off one real avenue for the impersonation, phishing, and scams that misuse our name to mislead people. And because .CLAUDE is used only by Anthropic and the partners we license, it doesn't depend on outside registrations to keep going. Anthropic funds and runs .CLAUDE as part of how we operate, and is committed to maintaining it for the entire term of the ICANN registry agreement.
