The mission and purpose of this TLD is to expand consumer choice by providing a clear namespace associated with artificial superintelligence and related research. Registrants may include researchers, developers, institutions and informed communities.
The applied-for gTLD is sustainable because advanced AI research and public interest in the field are expected to continue. The gTLD is not dependent on a single industry, technology, or business model and can accommodate evolving uses as technology and Internet activity develop. Applicant designated Identity Digital as the RSP. Identity Digital enjoys a reputation of excellence as a domain name industry contributor and innovator. Applicant, along with Identity Digital’s team, will support this purpose through reliable registry operations, appropriate security and abuse-mitigation measures, transparent registration policies, and compliance with applicable ICANN requirements.
We are committed to the successful expansion of the Internet, the secure operation of the DNS, and the creation of a new segment of the web that will be admired and respected.
Link Freedom Group (LFG) aspires to become a best-in-class, vertically integrated domain name registration authority, see linkfreedomgroup.link. This TLD is part of a carefully curated portfolio of strings that LFG intends to pursue in ICANN’s 2026 New gTLD Program. In assembling this portfolio, LFG focused on securing meaningful, memorable, and commercially compelling strings that resonate strongly with end users and offer long-term growth potential.
Over the past four years, LFG (Nova Registry) has successfully grown its flagship TLD, .LINK, from approximately 125,000 to more than 300,000 domains under management. This growth has been driven by innovative distribution strategies, the expansion of registrar partnerships, and a granular pricing model that has enabled .LINK to remain competitively priced while avoiding the significant fee increases implemented by some other registry operators.
LFG’s experience in the domain name industry has reinforced one of the key lessons from the 2012 application round: long-term sustainability is strengthened through portfolio diversification. By spreading operational costs and mitigating revenue fluctuations across multiple TLDs, LFG is better positioned to withstand market volatility and invest in continued growth. Accordingly, LFG believes that even obtaining a subset of the TLDs for which it has applied will establish a diversified portfolio capable of supporting long-term economic stability, operational resilience, and sustainable growth.

Mission and Purpose
The .asi namespace offers a recognizable web address built around "ASI," a term widely used in connection with artificial superintelligence and the broader study and discussion of highly advanced artificial intelligence. A name on .asi gives a registrant a clear, memorable identity associated with that subject.
The purpose is to make available an open namespace that organizations and individuals may use for an online presence related to ASI, artificial intelligence, or other purposes for which they find the term relevant. A research project, developer resource, publication, product page, community, or company's chosen destination on .asi becomes a recognizable name.
For registrants whose work involves artificial intelligence, .asi offers an identity that reflects a recognized area of research, analysis, and public discussion concerning increasingly capable AI systems. The namespace does not depend on any particular definition of ASI, technological milestone, model, or provider. Its value comes from the familiarity and distinctiveness of the term itself and its availability to registrants who want to make use of it.
Intended Registrants
.asi will operate on an open registration model, available to any registrant without eligibility restrictions and without conditions tied to any particular company, industry, technology, research approach, or use. Registrants are likely to include, but are in no way limited to, artificial intelligence developers and companies, researchers and academic institutions, platform and infrastructure providers, enterprises working with advanced AI systems, publishers and educators, policy and research organizations, and open-source and technical communities. Uses of .asi are similarly open and are not limited to any particular conception of artificial superintelligence, model architecture, platform, provider, or subject matter.
Related Activities Supporting the Purpose
- Awareness-building among the technology, research, and developer communities most likely to find the namespace useful
- Broad registrar distribution to make .asi names widely available
- Registrant education on the availability and use of .asi names
- Community outreach through artificial intelligence, research, developer, and open-source ecosystems
- Responsible registry operations, including standard abuse mitigation and registration policies
Sustainability
.asi is durable because it is tied to a recognized concept and continuing field of inquiry rather than to a single product, company, model, or vendor. As artificial intelligence develops, questions concerning systems that may substantially exceed current capabilities remain part of technical research, academic analysis, commercial planning, and broader public discussion. The relevance of the term does not depend on whether any particular system is characterized as ASI or on whether any particular technological milestone is reached.
As research, development, analysis, and discussion concerning increasingly capable artificial intelligence continue to evolve, organizations and individuals may continue to find a clear, dedicated .asi identity useful. OpenAI has the operational, technical, and financial capacity to run the registry over the long term, consistent with the commitments described elsewhere in this application, and will continue to adapt registrant services and policies as the space develops
1. Mission and purpose: The mission of .asi is to provide a memorable namespace for the research field, industry and public discourse surrounding artificial superintelligence, the long-standing term for AI systems whose capabilities would exceed human-level intelligence. Intended registrants include AI research organizations and laboratories, technology companies working on frontier AI capabilities, academic groups, policy and safety institutes, conferences, publishers and communities engaged with the trajectory of advanced AI, alongside organizations across other sectors whose names abbreviate to ASI. Intended users are researchers, developers, policymakers, journalists, students and the general public seeking information, organizations and discussion related to artificial superintelligence. Following delegation, the applicant will, as registry operator of the .asi TLD, conduct a phased launch, implement all ICANN-required rights protection mechanisms, and distribute the TLD through ICANN-accredited registrars, supported by marketing and outreach to build awareness and adoption among the intended registrant and user groups. The TLD will be operated under a comprehensive DNS abuse prevention and mitigation framework covering the full range of abuse types, combining proactive and reactive controls. Abuse reports will be investigated and actioned in line with applicable policy requirements. The objective is to maintain .asi as a high-quality, trusted namespace for registrants and end users.
2. Sustainability: Artificial superintelligence has been a subject of computer science research and academic inquiry for decades; the concept predates the current wave of commercial AI interest and sits at the center of a growing global conversation spanning research, investment, governance and public debate. As AI capabilities advance, the number of organizations, publications, institutes and communities organized around the long-term trajectory of the technology continues to expand, and ASI is established vocabulary within that discourse. The string's value as a scarce three-letter identifier for organizations abbreviating to ASI provides an additional, independent demand base outside the AI field entirely.
The mission of .ASI is to provide a namespace associated with the applied-for string. The .ASI gTLD is intended to serve a broad range of registrants and users, including individuals, businesses, organizations, communities, projects, and other entities that identify with, relate to, or wish to be associated with the concept represented by the applied-for string.
The purpose of .ASI is to enable registrants to establish online identities using domain names that correspond to this concept. To achieve this purpose, Toddler Logic, LLC will make .ASI available for registration through registrars and other appropriate distribution channels; maintain a secure, stable, and reliable registry infrastructure; implement registration and operational policies that support the availability, security, and integrity of the namespace; and provide ongoing administration of the gTLD to enable registrants to register and use domain names within the namespace.
The purpose of .ASI is sustainable over time because the applied-for string is broadly recognized and has broad applicability across a wide range of contexts. As society, technology, and methods of communication evolve, organizations and individuals will continue to establish online identities associated with the applied-for string.
